Greetings! I have finally decided to return to blogging after a not-so-brief hiatus. Due to the end of a four year relationship, the unsolicited ruminations have returned. Now we’re navigating dating as an awkward neurodivergent black woman. I think the neurodivergence is where all the personality lives, personally. Without it I’d probably be boring with no spunk. I’m still trying to define what black womanhood looks like for me, and perhaps dating as an adult will help me in this quest.

I do think bell hooks would have a lot to say about our modern dating scheme. I think she would be very disappointed and equally concerned. Womanism has seemed to fail us in the arena of love, and the patriarchy has the upper hand. But I shall not get ahead of myself and save that discussion for its own post.

Each post will feature a song and image, chosen to match my mood at the time of writing. Some posts will be book or movie reviews, while others will be random think pieces; either way, I hope you enjoy them.
