This is a piece I wrote some time ago. I have been revisiting some of my older writings to find inspiration and to see what has changed in my perspective and experiences. Recently, I have found a man whom I believe is worthy of all the love I have inside of my being to give. BUT we also know that spectrum . . . I am on it. So I have been away from writing and reading for a while to understand whether my feelings are real or hyperfixations. Truth is, maybe both. Whatever it is, it has been very nice to feel like I met the fictional person I wrote this piece for.

Wait for me
Please be patient
I am coming for you
I too am becoming tired
I too am becoming frustrated
And I too am lonely
But please wait for me
Please be patient
I am coming for you
I don’t know when
And maybe you don’t either
But I sure hope it’s soon.
I’m excited to see your face
How many teeth show when you smile
How wide your mouth opens when you laugh
To know how your hands feel.
Are they rough?
Are they soft?
Or somewhere in the bumpy in-between?
I know you’re excited to see my face as well
I can tell you now that I have faint freckles
And a hairline that never lies flat
My nose has a hump
And my hands have texture because I wear many rings.
One day our hands will interlock and we’ll know.
I will see your smile
And you will see my freckles
Then we’ll know,
all that time apart was worth it,
or we’ll hate it,
wishing we had met earlier.
Either way,
I’ll wait for you
I’ll be patient
Because I know you are coming for me.
